Before greenlighting any VFX scope, ask:
- Do we have clean plates? — Was the shoot lit and tracked for VFX, or are we fixing in post?
- What's the delivery spec? — Broadcast, cinema, streaming, and social all have different requirements.
- Who owns the assets? — Project files, 3D models, and comp scripts should be defined in the contract.
- What's the revision policy? — Two rounds is standard; unlimited revisions destroy timelines.
- Do we need on-set supervision? — For shots with heavy VFX, a supervisor on set saves 30–50% of post time.
At Cinevox, we provide a VFX breakdown document answering all five before production begins. It's the foundation of every successful project we've delivered.
